This website showcases photography -- our stories are almost all pictures, displayed large. Traditionally, websites have used small pictures because smaller pictures load into your computer more quickly. Current technology, however, has made the use of big dramatic pictures possible through broadband access. If you have cable, wireless, DSL or satellite internet service, you have broadband.
If you do have broadband access, you'll be able to view all of our stories easily. But if you only have dial-up, the time you'll have to wait for some stories to load can be long. Any story that combines sound and pictures is virtually impossible to view with dial-up.
The broadband presentations are our favorite because the pictures are bigger and the design is more elegant. But so that dial-up users can enjoy Life in Corydon, we've included versions that load more quickly. All of the stories, though, are better viewed with broadband.
We've labeled all of the slideshows either with either an orange BB (broadband strongly recommended) or a blue DU (dial-up OK). If you're visiting us with a dial-up connection, don't attempt to view the orange BB versions unless you're really patient, and maybe have a book to read while they load; otherwise, stick with the blue DUs.
If you have only dial-up and want a faster connection, call Verizon at 1-800-483-4000 and tell them you would like to have DSL service here. The more people who request service, the sooner we might get it.
